Common Assessment Framework
The Common Assessment Framework (CAF) is an Early Help Assessment framework for Practitioners from Universal Services.
- for practitioner advice please contact your hub, hubs are listed below
- for other issues contact the Performance and Business Intelligence Team
- you can find their details in the 'Contact Us' section of this page
CAF is used to assess children and their families to establish a family plan at the earliest opportunity.
This plan aims to make sure that children, young people, and their families receive the right services to protect and promote their well-being. It includes assigning a 'lead practitioner' as the main contact for the family and creating a family plan.
Practitioners in Universal Services can receive help when using the Common Assessment Framework through the four Children First Hubs.
