Redress scheme

Redress Scheme for private management and letting agents
All private letting and management agents need to be registered with an approved redress scheme.

The purpose of these schemes - known as Ombudsman Schemes - is to deal with complaints made by tenants or landlords about agents.

If we find out that a management or letting agent has not signed up to one these schemes, we can take action. They can be fined up to £5,000 for not being part of a redress scheme.

  • if you are a tenant or a property owner and you wish to know if your managing or letting agent is registered
