HUG - Home Upgrade Grant 2
Wakefield Council has secured government funding from the Department of Energy, Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) to deliver home energy efficiency improvements across the district.
We are only able to support homeowners whose properties are not heated by mains gas.
Eligibility
You may be eligible for this funding if:
- your home does not have mains gas central heating; AND
- your household (or your tenants) have a combined gross annual income of up to £36,000 or you live in an area pre-identified by DESNZ; AND
- your property has an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) Rating of D-G
Only homes within the Wakefield District are eligible for this funding.
If you think you might be eligible for funding you can apply below.
PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL FUNDING IS DISCRETIONARY
What could I have done?
The funding requires all installations to be delivered to British Standard Institute’s best practice PAS2035. You will be visited by a Retrofit Assessor who will develop a bespoke plan for your property which could include:
-
insulation (internal wall, cavity wall, loft and/or external wall)
-
draught proofing
-
installation of new heating systems, like Air Source Heat Pumps
-
heating and hot water controls
-
ventilation improvements
-
renewable energy generation, like roof-top solar panels
DESNZ want to support householders to move away from fossil fuels (coal, LPG, oil etc.) heating and unfortunately will not be able to install fossil fuel based heating systems and we are unable to complete work on properties where gas is the primary heating source.
