Playing pitch strategy

The strategy has been undertaken to ensure that outdoor playing pitch provision meets the needs of existing and future residents.

It has been produced in line with national planning guidance. It provides a robust evidence base to support future playing pitch provision throughout Wakefield district.

The Wakefield District Playing Pitch Strategy consists of:

The Assessment report (updated January 2020), which presents an updated supply and demand assessment of playing pitch facilities; and

The Strategy and action plan (updated April 2020), which provides a framework for maintaining and improving existing playing pitch facilities. It also covers accompanying ancillary facilities.
