Following the designation of the Ackworth Neighbourhood Area a public meeting was held by Ackworth Parish Council on 16 March 2016 to discuss how to progress the preparation of the neighbourhood plan.
A representative of Wakefield Council gave a presentation about the background to neighbourhood planning.
The Ackworth Neighbourhood Area was designated by the Council on 12 November 2015 and published for information.
The application, by Ackworth Parish Council, was submitted to the Council in July 2015 and published for public comment between Thursday 17 September and Wednesday 14 October 2015.
The Statement of Consultation provides details of everyone consulted, and the various methods used to notify relevant people of the application and inform them how they could make comments.
Seven comments were received, none objecting to the proposed boundary or the appropriateness of the area being designated a neighbourhood area.
The preparation of the plan will be the responsibility of Ackworth Parish Council.
