The towns

The Towns Regeneration Team has a wide remit to help support the development of urban centres outside Wakefield City.

Our aim is to work in partnership with local communities, businesses, developers and voluntary groups to deliver quality regeneration schemes that will inspire and encourage new investment into these towns and the surrounding areas.

  • Castleford

    Find out more about Castleford district's only riverside market town, with a rich heritage that had a key role both nationally and internationally. The town we know grew up as a thriving hub for industry from late in the 19th century.
