Wonderful world of learning – creativity challenge
As part of Our Year and Wakefield Attendance Strategy, we want to celebrate the talents of all our students and harness their creativity. Giving students the chance to express what they love about where they learn through drawing or writing.
Let your creativity shine and share your wonderful world of learning.
Where do you learn? What makes that place special? Is it the teachers, your friends? What do you love learning about most? What is your favourite way to learn?
Winning entries will become a wonderful world of learning summer discovery trail for everyone to see why young people love attending their place of learning. Posters of the winning drawings will appear around Wakefield. Scan the QR codes on the posters to find the winning rap and poems. All winner and runner-up entries will be made into a booklet too.

"School isn’t always easy, school can be loud but when I do well it makes me feel proud.
My favourite lesson is forest school where I search high and low for bugs; I’m happiest outdoors spending time with the slugs.
School lunches are delicious, the ham wraps are so yummy, they make me feel happy as they fill up my tummy.
Play time is great because I have energy to burn; I need to run around because it makes it easier to learn.
Maths can be difficult, I find phonics quiet tricky but I love science experiments, especially when I get sticky.
At the end of the day I go home for a rest. Having a tasty meal, a warm bath and a story is the best!"

"If my school was a character in a cartoon,
He would whistle a happy and cheerful tune,
His breath would smell of school dinners and books,
His arms and legs would be shaped like our coat hooks,
His eyes would be big, bright and emerald green,
He would try to make sure his shoes were always clean,
There would be a flag on his hat about the school ways,
"Good rules to live by" as the headteacher says,
Some days he would move slowly and other days fast,
He would tell stories about pupils and teachers present and past,
He would be there for every day of term,
And by 9am he would always be ready to learn!"
