If you’re struggling with money, you might want to use the BetterCare calculator.

It is free and anonymous, and it will take you to the BetterCare Wakefield webpage to help you check the support you’re entitled to.

  • Money smart

    Money Smart is money management information for residents of Wakefield.

  • Help in a crisis

    If you are having a money crisis and can’t afford to pay for things like food or energy bills, we may be able to help.

  • Council Tax support

    You can find out if you’re eligible and claim Council Tax support online.

  • Free school meals

    Free school meals are available to all children attending a state funded infant school up until year 2, regardless of income. From Year 3, income-related free school meals are available to eligible families.
