The Local Development Scheme document provides summary information relating to the preparation of the statutory development plan for Wakefield district.
Download the most up-to-date version of the Local Development Scheme. Following the adoption of the Wakefield District Local Plan on 24 January 2024 a revised Local Development Scheme will be produced in due course.
Adopted Local Plan
The Wakefield District Local Plan 2036 was submitted in May 2021 for independent examination. The Local Plan was adopted on 24 January 2024.
Made neighbourhood plan
The Walton neighbourhood plan was made and adopted by the council on 13 April 2016. It forms part of the districts statutory development plan. Download the Walton neighbourhood plan
Community Infrastructure Levy
Community Infrastructure Levy Approval
The Community Infrastructure Levy Charging Schedule was approved by the Council on 20 January 2016. The charges were implemented on 1 April 2016.
