Local plan main modifications

The Council is undertaking a consultation. This is on proposed main modifications to the Wakefield District Local Plan 2036 Publication Draft. This will take place from Thursday 18 May until 5pm Thursday 6 July 2023.

The purpose is to allow for comments to be received on the proposed Main Modifications. These will be used to inform the inspector’s final conclusions on the plan.

You can comment on whether the draft plan has been prepared in accordance with Planning legislation and regulations and if it is sound. The tests of soundness are in the National Planning Policy Framework.

The inspector has indicated, that, subject to Main Modifications, the plan is likely to be capable of being found legally compliant and sound. This is stated in the post hearings letter.

Readers can notify the council of any factual errors. However these will not be considered by the inspector:
