WalkSafe Wakefield
We’ve partnered with app WalkSafe to help you have a safer and more enjoyable experience when out around Wakefield.
Use the app for safety features including:
- WalkSafe – giving you the ability to share your destination, route and estimated arrival time with trusted friends
- HomeSafe – alerts your trusted friends if you fail to arrive at your destination on time
- Safety Map – helps you find safe spaces and support
- SOS – hold down the SOS button to alert your trusted friends immediately that you are in danger
- Reporting – issues or concerns can be raised and reported anonymously
Please note: you can give or remove permission to track your location at any time in your phone settings.

WalkSafe in Wakefield
You can use the app wherever you are in the district or nationwide. When you are within 4km of Wakefield city centre, you can access local information such as:
- venues participating in Ask for Angela
- The Wakefield Safe Space
- Safe Zones
- the live location of our Street Marshalls (weekend nights only)
- venues that offer further support like phone charging stations
